Upgraded from a Scarlett 2i4 and I have to say, I wish I got the 18i20 sooner because it is an absolute game-changer with it’s extremely low latency hardware bus mixer. Maybe not the best of all the interfaces in the market but, for the functionality and the amount of work you can get done at a very decent and competitive price, nothing comes close. Especially with it’s multiple inputs/outputs, which are always great. If you have multiple microphones and wish to record a performance with room mics, the 18i20 works like a charm. Especially for those that wish to record a drum kit. The fact that the device works even if the PC is switched off is even more impressive since you can pass any line-in directly to your main monitors via XLR, if set up correctly. The build, while not heavy, is still very sturdy and the design is sleek and exquisite.

A lot of talk out there about headphone amp having the same issue as other Scarlet models – that being, if you’re using headphones with an impedance of lower than 32 ohms you’ll have to be very careful with the volume since you wouldn’t want your ears to be blown off by a wave of distortion. I have the Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro and the M20x & ATH-M50X from Audio Technica. All 3 perform fine without any issues. Headphones with 250 ohms require more power to drive the speakers so you can turn the volume up as you like. Just be aware when selecting your headphones.

As for the service from YayaStation, fantastic. I ordered the 18i20 very early in the morning and the guys at YayaStation did their best to have it delivered by evening. So thank you to YayaStation for the prompt reply and quick delivery because I was able to get to work immediately.

The 18i20 is a proper workhorse and the service from YayaStation was fantastic. For that, I give 5 stars.
