Akai is a Hong Kong manufacturer of consumer electronics. It was founded as Akai Electric Company Ltd in Tokyo, Japan, in 1946.
The “Akai Professional” electronic instrument division was spun off in 1999[2] and remains under separate ownership from that of the main “Akai” brand.
